Nuns Gone (Money) Wild

nuns gone wildLet’s say you are a nun named Sister Carol Keehan and your total 2010 compensation (salary and benefits) was $962,467. Would you feel guilty in any way? (Maybe that ‘vows of poverty’ thing has been waived?)

BTW, would the pay and benefits package make Sister Carol ineligible for the ‘Daughter of Charity’ order?

What about if you were a nun, let’s say Sister Carol Keehan, and you were shilling for Obamacare (to include the mandate for many branches of the Church to fund abortions and abortifacients) along the way? Would you feel guilty in any way? (Maybe that ‘commitment to Catholic doctrine’ thing has been waived?)

To many, it would seem there is a conflict as to who is master here: is God or money being served in Sister Keehan’s case?

Read the whole thing at the American Spectator, a classic case (as the author points out) of fifth columnism. The article is The Little Sisters of Limousine Liberalism, but at these rates, it seems more a case of Learjet liberalism.

About Professor Mockumental

I enjoy almost all forms of parody, buffoonery, and general high-jinks. Satire has shown itself to be an essential societal need; I therefore humbly offer my services in such a manner. I enjoy mocking the usual suspects at the New York Times (Charles Blows, Moron Dowd, and the earth is flat guy) and Washington Post (Dana Milkbag, E.D. Dijon, and David Ignoramus). There are many others as well, but sadly, there are always too many targets and too little time.
