Compare and contrast: Al Sharpton and me

sharptonThere are many differences between Al Sharpton and me.

One of them is I’d likely be arrested for attempting to incite if I did what Mr. Sharpton is doing. From the Orlando Sentinel:

If George Zimmerman is not arrested in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin soon, the Rev. Al Sharpton will call for an escalation in peaceful civil disobedience and economic sanctions.

Oh, you say, “Mr. Sharpton is only calling for peaceful disobedience.”

Well. As the saying goes, watch what they do and not what they say.

For example, the Sharpton-related Crown Heights riot:

Edward Shapiro, a historian at Brandeis University, later called the riot “the most serious anti-Semitic incident in American history“.

More… disobedience from Mr. Sharpton fell out of the Tawana Brawley rape fraud:

In 1998, Pagones was awarded $345,000 (he sought $395 million) through a lawsuit for defamation of character that he had brought against Sharpton, Maddox and Mason. The jury found Sharpton liable for making seven defamatory statements about Pagones, Maddox for two and Mason for one.

And then there’s the Sharpton involvement in Freddie’s Fashion Mart… disobedience: that only killed eight.

The lesson: race hustling pays out in death and destruction. And sometimes, in personal power for the hustlers.

About Professor Mockumental

I enjoy almost all forms of parody, buffoonery, and general high-jinks. Satire has shown itself to be an essential societal need; I therefore humbly offer my services in such a manner. I enjoy mocking the usual suspects at the New York Times (Charles Blows, Moron Dowd, and the earth is flat guy) and Washington Post (Dana Milkbag, E.D. Dijon, and David Ignoramus). There are many others as well, but sadly, there are always too many targets and too little time.
