Liar or socialist?

What’s the distinction between a liar and a socialist?

The former conceals “that he is attempting to lead us away from a correct apprehension of reality,” whereas the latter conceals that he is not interested in reality at all. The socialist “does not care whether the things he says describe reality correctly. He just picks them out, or makes them up, to suit his purpose.”

This thought was inspired by the great Evgeny Morozov take-down article, The Naked and the TED.

About Professor Mockumental

I enjoy almost all forms of parody, buffoonery, and general high-jinks. Satire has shown itself to be an essential societal need; I therefore humbly offer my services in such a manner. I enjoy mocking the usual suspects at the New York Times (Charles Blows, Moron Dowd, and the earth is flat guy) and Washington Post (Dana Milkbag, E.D. Dijon, and David Ignoramus). There are many others as well, but sadly, there are always too many targets and too little time.
