How out of touch is the media?
Sufficiently out of touch to suggest this:
The Obama-Hillary interview signaled that we have passed an important tipping point in American politics: Democrats are now the regular guys, and conservatives are the weirdos.
Well. It appears you can have your own facts.
The CBS sponsored Steve Kroft/Barack Obama/Hillary Clinton ménage à trois was the most nakedly blatant demonstration of media bias/ineptness since Candy Crowley took to the presidential debate teeter totter in favor of the incumbent.
The simple truths are as follows: first, in winning re-election, the President somehow managed to avoid bearing the burden of his failed first term. Next, at this point in his second term, Obama is still far more popular than his policies. Finally, the media is hopelessly, incorruptly, shamelessly biased for anything that has a parenthetical “D” near it.
Will the President’s so-called regular guy shtick hold up? It’s difficult to say but 2008 didn’t hold up into 2010.
Oh, and since Bob Menendez is a Democrat, does that make him another of the “regular guy” crowd? Expect the mainstream media to display as much curiosity with Menendez as they showed with Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky and John Edwards and Rielle Hunter.
And here’s some diagnostic advice to the writer: you seem to be leaking fluid from your tipping point.
Man remains the only creature who can lie to himself; media man is perhaps the only creature who can lie to himself all the time.
