Y U B Lyin Obama?

The Obama Administration is trying to lie their way out of the paternity for the pending sequester, but the simple truth is it was the White House’s idea. (For what it’s worth, the President was in favor of the sequester as made manifest by the fact he signed the bill. Sometime after signing the bill, he became opposed. Let’s call this the iron logic of Barack Obama.)

From Bob Woodward, et al, at the Washington Post-It:

…the automatic spending cuts were initiated by the White House and were the brainchild of Lew and White House congressional relations chief Rob Nabors — probably the foremost experts on budget issues in the senior ranks of the federal government.

Obama personally approved of the plan for Lew and Nabors to propose the sequester to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.).

The sequester—barely a rounding error in terms of the government’s debt—is typical of “elite” government thinking: measure with a micrometer, mark with a piece of chalk, cut with an ax, and then lie about the whole thing for the sake of political expediency. Obama wants House Republicans to save him from himself. Hopefully they won’t.

But it seems the Muppet Master Puppet Master knows his relationship with the media needs some repairing. Wonder how that’ll work out? Our position is the media Muppets will generally fail to mention the issue of the sequester idea initiating in the White House and the fact Dear Reader signed the bill into law.

Just a hunch.

About Professor Mockumental

I enjoy almost all forms of parody, buffoonery, and general high-jinks. Satire has shown itself to be an essential societal need; I therefore humbly offer my services in such a manner. I enjoy mocking the usual suspects at the New York Times (Charles Blows, Moron Dowd, and the earth is flat guy) and Washington Post (Dana Milkbag, E.D. Dijon, and David Ignoramus). There are many others as well, but sadly, there are always too many targets and too little time.
